Kentucky State Capitol Events
The Kentucky State Capitol and grounds are not available for special event rental. The Capitol is available for the following types of governmental and business-oriented events:
- press conferences
- proclamation signings
- protests
- special announcements
- legislative bill signings
Other types of events may be considered, but only under the guidelines set forth by the Historic Properties Advisory Commission.
The Finance and Administration Cabinet permits persons, organizations, or groups to use Commonwealth Facilities for various purposes and events when the use will not interfere with or disrupt government functions. Requests will generally be scheduled on a "first come, first served" basis. The Governor will have priority over use of the Rotunda and other public areas of the Capitol. The Division of Historic Properties reserves the right to relocate any activity at our discretion if the Governor needs any area. Events may be held Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. (regular business hours) excluding state holidays.
For more information on use of the Capitol public spaces and grounds, please contact Capitol Scheduling at (502) 564-3000, extension 228, or by e-mail: paula.weglarz@ky.gov.
